Job Description
Specialist Dermatologist
Location: Steenberg & Constantiaberg Cape Town South Africa
Overview:
An established and highly regarded dermatology practice in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking to grow its specialist team by appointing a qualified and experienced Specialist Dermatologist. This is an exceptional opportunity for a compassionate patientfocused individual to join a clinic with an existing patient base strong administrative support and a commitment to evidencebased care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis treatment and ongoing management of a variety of skin hair and nail conditions (including acne eczema psoriasis pigmentation disorders and skin cancers).
- Conduct thorough skin cancer screenings and perform minor dermatological procedures (e.g. excisions biopsies cryotherapy).
- Maintain accurate medical records in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Develop personalised treatment plans and provide patient education regarding skin health and preventative care.
- Collaborate with inhouse aesthetic and skin therapy professionals where required.
- Stay updated on advancements in dermatological treatments and incorporate innovations into clinical practice when relevant.
Optional (Aesthetic Medicine Experience):
- Perform or oversee cosmetic dermatological procedures such as PRP therapy skin peels injectables and laser treatments.
- Advise patients on skin rejuvenation therapies aligned with medical skincare goals.

Requirements:
- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
- Specialist qualification in Dermatology (e.g. FC Derm (SA) MMed Derm or equivalent).
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Specialist Dermatologist.
- At least 2 years of postspecialisation clinical dermatology experience.
- Valid professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain).
- Exceptional clinical skills and patient care orientation.
- Ability to function independently in a private practice setting while contributing to a team culture.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience or formal training in aesthetic dermatology.
- Confidence with digital patient management systems and remote consultations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in contributing to the continuous improvement of practice protocols and patient services.
