Role description:
We are looking for an experienced Architect to join our team working in support of current and future major infrastructure transit and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment where cooperation attention to detail and good communication skills lead to proper execution of project design work.
Role accountabilities:
Most of the Things Youll Work On:
- Creates and assists with the creation of designs from concept through to construction working with the Project Manager and Project Engineers
- Establishes the design framework of projects
- Coordinates architectural and project design
- Manages architectural designers and CAD staff assigned to the project to successful completion of submissions meeting budget and schedule
- Coordinates and manages fee budget and schedule on architectural work
- Functions as the project leader and primary coordinator between multiple disciplines
- Applies knowledge of building codes and understanding of design philosophy of projects
- Prepares and coordinates detailed design and construction documents
- Resolves complex technical and design issues within the project scope and escalate all others to ensure project objectives are met
- Conducts onsite observations and documents site reviews
- Reviews submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFIs and project changes
- Participates in business development providing input to proposals
Qualifications
Youll need to have:
- Minimum of 8 years experience as a licensed Architect with OAA designing and leading infrastructure transit or other complex projects.
- Familiarity with software such as Revit AutoCAD and Microstation are an asset.
- Experienced with MS Office MS Sharepoint Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Note: this is not a position for a conceptual/design architect the successful candidate will have the required technical knowledge to direct CAD designers in all technical and constructability aspects of construction documentation and detailing.
