Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic selfmotivated Project Engineer Construction who thrives in a fastpaced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane Australia.
About the Position:
As the Project Engineer Construction you will be assisting with planning and programming activities to ensure the most efficient use of resources and the completion of the project in accordance with safety environment specification design and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Assisting with the supervision and management of subcontractors to satisfy budgets quality safety and programme requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable design standards QA/QC requirements and specifications.
Development of effective and economically viable engineering solutions.
Develop and strengthen stakeholder relationships to support project goals.
Collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager and the construction team for ETCS L2 project execution.
Produce & Manage ITP (Procore) Excavation Permits WAB (Work Activity Brief)
Ensure compliance with Legislation applicable to the work group and its activities including Electrical Safety Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Management.
Demonstrate full compliance with Health Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements and initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
Degree in engineering (civil preferred but not essential) or equivalent engineering qualification which is acceptable for corporate membership of Engineers Australia.
2 years in engineering in a rail civil or electrical/signalling construction environment (rail preferred)
Demonstrated competency in implementing Health & Safety initiatives.
Outstanding planning and organisational skills.
Demonstrated experience working within a brownfield railway signaling environment preferred.
Knowledge of software tools and technical systems.
