Leidos Defense Systems Electrical Systems Department is seeking a Section Manager Electrical Systems to join our team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense space cyber and commercial fields Leidos provides responsive costeffective engineering scientific and IT solutions.
The Electrical Systems Department is a designfocused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardwarebased solutions. The individual selected for this position will be a working manager responsible for supervising a team of Electrical Design Engineers while also contributing to programs for internal and external customers. As a manager the individual will develop and grow their team to support organizational objectives with an emphasis on scaling and quality improvement. As a technical contributor and leader the individual will support a variety of programs to develop electronic assemblies integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles missiles defensive radars and space systems. The individual will be expected to manage their time and priorities effectively to ensure both project and organizational success.
The individual must be a selfstarter with strong technical skills and a proven history of technical leadership. The individual must also have excellent communication skills and a desire to build and develop a team to tackle challenging technical problems.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technicaloversightandmentorshipto develop team members
Develop strong working relationships with team members to meet productivity and retention goals
Conduct regular staff meetings and oneonones with team members
Scale the team byidentifying hiring needswriting job postingscoordinating screening of applicants interviewing and making hiring recommendations
Propose and implement ideas to improve organizational quality agility and capability
Support organizational business development goals and initiatives by providing technical input to proposals
Perform necessary reporting approvals and other administrative tasks
Provide technical input to program leadership during the planning and execution of engineering projects
Perform hardware system development from developing/deriving requirements to employing appropriate techniques for design fabrication integration and test
Work split between management tasks and technical tasks is expected to be 25% management 75% technical

Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABETaccredited institution with 12 years of experience or 10 years with MS degree.
Candidate must have 2 years of demonstratedexperienceleading small to midsized technical teams.
Candidate must have5years of experienceinhardware system design and test from architecture through implementation
Candidate must have experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
Candidate must demonstrate an ability to decompose systemlevel considerations (i.e. requirements) to lower design levels
Position requires candidate to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multidisciplinary teams
Candidate must have the ability to interpret schematics wiring diagrams and system block diagrams.
Candidate must haveproven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components
Candidate must have handson laboratory experience with instrumentation test equipment and debug/test methods
Candidate must be a highly motivated selfstarter with the ability to work independently
Candidate must have strong verbal and written technical communication skills
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville North Alabama AL area
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference shown to candidate who possesses a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABETaccredited university
Preference shown to candidate who has experience and/or working knowledge of:
Personnel management including hiring employee development and staffing coordination
Evaluating and implementing processes improvement initiatives
Project management including cost and schedule oversight
Business development activities including developing briefings white papers and proposals
Electrical design for military hardware or aerospace system.
Security Requirements:
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126100.00 $227950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
