Warehouse Assistant, In-Kind Donations -Seasonal

In this handson role youll be the welcoming face and strong support behind our workreceiving donations of furniture and household goods and ensuring they reach individuals and families living in poverty who come to our Center for Community Service. Job Summary

Warehouse Assistants support the InKind Donations Program including unloading of inkind donations (furniture clothing small accessories) from the personal vehicles of donors as well as via trucks that have picked up donations from across the region assemble client donations if necessary and consistent interaction with clients.

Essential functionsprimary responsibilities

• Welcome and engage with donors in receiving donations of furniture housewares and clothing at our Center for Community Service.
• Record donor demographic information.
• Unload largescale donations from hotels and universities at our satellite warehouse located mile from our Center for Community Service.
• Provide tax receipts to donors.
• Load client vehicles with furniture items with care and attention.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with differing climate conditions.

Required education and experience

• High School Diploma GED or equivalent

Preferred Education and experience

• One year of work or volunteer experience
• One year of experience working in direct service or customer service settings.
• Experience working with individuals and families living in poverty.
• Experience working in the transport moving or hauling industry.

Work environment

The Associate will work in a warehouse environment and outdoors in different weather climates.

Physical demands

Capable of lifting 100 pounds or more with assistance. This job requires consistently lifting arms high and bending knees often. Must be able to withstand a variety of changing weather conditions.
