Job Summary/Description:
WVLT is looking for a creative and passionate producer who is ready to deliver urgent important and unique content to a multiplatform audience. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines in a highenergy environment. We are looking for a producer who is a conversational writer with a good eye for graphics and other visuals to tell the stories that matter to East Tennessee.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to:
Produce live newscast(s) daily
Manage station social media accounts (Facebook Twitter/X /X Instagram TikTok) and produce newsforward social media content
Communicate with anchors reporters assignment desk field crews editors and others to ensure execution of a highquality newscast
Produce live breaking news and special event coverage
Produce and run live streams on social media and companyowned platforms
Write and publish APstyle articles for digital publication
Act fast in a breaking news environment to get information online and in newscasts as soon as it happens
Knowledge of search engine optimization is a plus
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors degree in journalism or related field preferred equivalent experience considered
Clear concise conversational writing skills
Excellent communication skills
Solid news judgement
Strong journalistic ethics
Make quick accurate decisions and work well under pressure
Team player attitude
Desire to win
