An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for driving the growth and success of our business by managing existing accounts and developing new commercial opportunities. The Business Development Manager will play a key role in executing our longterm waste strategy and ensuring the delivery of required revenues and tonnages.

The role will provide:

Key elements of the role

The successful candidate will:

  • manage all daytoday waste supply requirements and diversions during normal operations and outages.

  • negotiate and agree terms with commercial customers to deliver the required revenues and tonnages as defined in the longterm waste strategy.

  • support local authority and other longterm tendering and opportunities.

  • collaborate with operations customer management finance and legal teams to deliver waste strategy objectives.

  • identify new business opportunities including new markets growth areas trends customers products and services.

  • generate leads and cold call prospective customers where necessary.

  • meet with new customers/clients and maintain relationships with established clients.

  • keep uptodate records of all clients including all communication records.

  • negotiate pricing with customers and suppliers.

  • conduct sales forecasts and analysis presenting findings as necessary

Job requirements

The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge skills and experience:

  • Be of graduate calibre

  • Have prior experience in business development

  • Have knowledge of the waste industry

  • Able to think creatively and innovatively

  • Possess strong influencing skills

  • Be an organised and selfmotivated team player

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

  • Ability to communicate with different groups

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking

  • Demonstrate flexibility in work approach
