Study of major theories of child learning including behaviorism humanism cognitivism and constructivism as well as the pedagogical processes and movements associated with them. Examination of Indigenous perspectives on learning. Analysis of the impact of epistemological stances on the teachers role and pedagogical choices. Masters degree in Education required; preference will be given to a Doctorate in Education. At least one of the following: Recent fulltime teaching experience in a school or administrative role within a school board including 2 years of implementation of the Ontario curriculum in the subject area of the course with a specialist qualification in the subject area of the course or Current and peerreviewed research record in the subject area of the course or Recent comprehensive (Ph.D.) examination in the subject area of the course. Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum related to the subject area of the course and Ministry of Education documents related to the subject area of the course. Proven ability to apply the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards of the Ontario College of Teachers. The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above.
