Exciting opportunity to join our Client in the IT industry for an Account Executive based in Cape Town.

The Account Executive plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by managing and expanding the portfolio of clients. This role is responsible for building strong relationships identifying sales opportunities and ensuring high client satisfaction. The Account Executive serves as a primary point of contact for clients aligning their business needs with the companys IT solutions and services to maximize sales and retention. This position requires a strong sales mindset with a focus on revenue growth by upselling and crossselling to achieve and exceed company targets. The Account Executive must be skilled in consultative selling identifying client pain points and positioning the companys offerings as the best solution.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in sales account management and business development within the IT or Managed Services industry. They must possess exceptional communication negotiation and closing skills to drive longterm revenue growth. In this role the Account Executive will collaborate with various teams including but not limited to leadership marketing and specialist teams to develop tailored solutions ensuring successful deal closures and strong client retention.

Responsibilities

The primary tasks functions and deliverables of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Sales & Revenue Growth: focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Identify target and secure new revenue opportunities within the allocated accounts
    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets
    • Close deals with a focus on managed IT services cloud solutions and security services
    • Negotiate and upsell on MSA contracts SLAs and pricing structures in line with company objectives
  • Client Relationship Management: focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients ensuring high customer retention
    • Act as a trusted advisor understanding business needs and aligning IT solutions accordingly
    • Conduct regular client reviews to assess performance and identify expansion opportunities
    • Ensure 97% client renewal rate through exceptional service and relationship management
  • Pipeline & Opportunity Management: focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Maintain a strong sales pipeline ensuring consistent revenue growth
    • Use CRM tools to track sales progress forecast revenue and manage customer interactions
    • Provide regular sales reports pipeline updates and competitive insights too leadership
  • Customer Satisfaction & Service Excellence focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Ensure 85% 90% customer satisfaction scores (CSAT) by addressing client concerns proactively
    • Work with internal teams to ensure SLAs are met and service delivery exceeds expectations
    • Act as a point of contact for escalations and highpriority client needs
  • Market & Industry Knowledge: focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Stay up to date with emerging IT trends competitors and industry developments
    • Represent the company at industry conferences networking events and trade shows
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking: focus areas include but are not limited to:
    • Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to senior management
    • Track and analyze sales performance against KPIs and target

Requirements:

  • Matric or NQF equivalent
  • Certification or Degree in Business Administration or Business Management or related field will be advantageous
  • Experienced working with ITIL and COBIT5 frameworks (certification will be advantageous)
  • Experienced managing IT Risk and Change management
  • Experience in planning and managing projects
  • 5 years experience in Sales or similar roles
  • Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
  • Excellent decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to analyse and resolve problems
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Professional and confident communicator
  • Effective listening skills
  • Dynamic and high energy levels
  • Good followup skills
  • Be patient tactful diplomatic and approachable
