Job Description

The HR/Safety Specialist at W. W. Cannon is part of the glue of the company who works to develop implement and manage all functions of HR and hiring as well as overseeing Safety programs and training for W. W. Cannon. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations and create a safe and productive work environment. Handle tasks like HR administration employee relations and safety training while also ensuring workplace safety investigating incidents and implementing safety programs. Manage the everyday functions of the office.

Key responsibilities:

Human Resources:

  • HR Administration:Maintain employee records handle payroll and manage HRIS systems.
  • Employee Relations:Provide guidance and support to employees and managers address employee concerns and conduct initial investigations into complaints.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:Assist with the recruitment process including advertising jobs screening resumes and conducting interviews.
  • Training and Development:Develop and deliver HR and safety training programs for employees.
  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with HR policies procedures and relevant employment laws.

Safety:

  • Safety Program Management:Develop and implement safety policies procedures and programs.
  • Safety Inspections:Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Safety Training:Provide safety training to employees on safe work practices hazard communication and emergency procedures.
  • Incident Investigation:Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
  • Collaboration:Work with management and other departments to improve safety performance.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records of safety inspections training and incident investigations.
  • Workers Compensation:Assist with the administration of workers compensation claims.
  • Emergency Response:Develop and implement emergency response plans.
