Position Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is the primary pointperson for arranging transportation of truck freight out of the Collins Chester and Lakeview sawmills and any transportation requested by the commodity trading department. The Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining and shipping inventory at offsite storage and remanufacturing facilities and for providing administrative support to the sales team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate shipments for delivery including managing necessary personnel to maximize efficiency and profitability. Ensure shipping methods comply with local state and federal law.
- Maintain communication with the softwood sales team and the Shipping Coordinators at the softwood sawmills to ensure the shipping schedules are on track calendars are synced and maintained and that carriers are communicating with the shippers and receivers.
- Report on inventory levels at the beginning and end of each week and address the data in weekly sales meetings with upper management.
- Maintain supplier sales and customer records.
- Prepare and process lumber and freight invoices updating customer and vendor profiles as needed.
- Work closely with the Softwood Sales Manager Export Logistics Coordinator and the logistics team at other Collins locations.
- Analyze and optimize the companys logistics processes.
- Track the sales teams communication with customers.
- Respond to emails phone calls and customer inquiries for the sales team.
- Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
- Onsite attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of TMS systems; Princeton TMX preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Negotiation abilities.
- Excellent note taking skills and the ability to create handover documentation.
- Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business or a similar field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or two (2) years of experience in logistics.
- Relevant industryrelated experience preferred.
- Experience utilizing inventory management software preferred.
