We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician with a strong background in electrical systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facility assets. This role will focus primarily on performing electrical maintenance repairs and installations while also supporting general facilities maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is a proactive problemsolver with handson experience in electrical work and a broad understanding of building systems. Positive attitudes and a willingness to help all departments accomplish Element Huntsvilles core goals.
Salary: $75000 $85000 DOE
Electrical Maintenance and Repair (Primary Focus):
Perform routine inspections troubleshooting and repairs of electrical systems including wiring hydraulic equipment circuits control panels VFDs outlets switches and lighting fixtures.
Install maintain and upgrade electrical equipment and test systems in compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices (e.g. multimeters circuit testers) and implement effective solutions.
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical panels breakers and backup generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Collaborate with external contractors for complex electrical projects when required.
Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed including diagrams parts used and compliance documentation.
General Facilities Maintenance (As Needed):
Inspect and maintain other building systems including electrical plumbing and mechanical equipment to ensure operational integrity.
Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing outlets or lighting fixtures as well as basic plumbing tasks like fixing leaks or unclogging drains.
Conduct minor carpentry painting and drywall repairs to uphold facility appearance and functionality.
Respond promptly to general maintenance requests addressing issues like equipment malfunctions or structural wear.
Assist with facility grounds upkeep such as landscaping or parking lot maintenance as seasonally required.
Support setup or relocation of furniture equipment or supplies for events or operational needs.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of trade school program required.
Valid electrician certification required.
Minimum of 510 years of experience in electrical maintenance with proven skills in troubleshooting and repair.
Working knowledge of general facilities maintenance including HVAC plumbing and building systems.
Familiarity with OSHA standards electrical codes (e.g. NEC) and workplace safety practices.
Ability to read blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills:
Strong Electrical experience with 480VAC 277VAC & 208VAC
Basic knowledge of automation systems or building management software.
Ability to work with hydraulic and pneumatic components integrated into plumbing systems such as pump valves and actuators including troubleshooting fluid dynamics and pressure issues.
Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside regular hours.
Positive attitude with willingness to help any department accomplish Element Huntsvilles core goals.
