Job Description

Accounting Coordinator

This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of incoming payments and the precise recording of all related financial transactions in accordance with established accounting standards.


This role is onsite at least 3 days per week in Midtown Sacramento CA (95811).


Essential Functions

  • Process cash receipts and ensure timely deposits to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Execute transactions required for the accurate and timely closing of account cycles.
  • Assist in monthend closing procedures and preparation of related financial reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Liaise with the Billing department to ensure patient payment information is accurately and promptly recorded.
  • Reconcile payments received with Third Party Administrator (TPA) records to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide support on special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Finance team.

Additional Duties

  • Provide backup support and assist other department Coordinators as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.

Preferred Background

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management and thirdparty payers.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and practice management software.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to resolve complex discrepancies.
