About Wayne Hospital
Recognized by the US News & World Report as a highperforming facility in congestive heart failure chronic obstructive pulmonary disease kidney failure and maternal services. It has been serving the community since 1957 and has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns.
About the unit
Wayne is a 53bed level 3 trauma center serving the cities of Wayne/Westland and the surrounding area as well as Detroit Metro Airport. There are approximately 35000 visits annually. We care for a variety of patients of all ages who are acute or chronically ill; approximately 30% of patient arrivals are via ambulance.
Scope of work
Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy goals policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
Qualifications
- Effective June 1 2025 Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
- Two years of relevant clinical (emergency/critical care) experience Required.
- Three Five years of emergency medicine experience is Preferred.
- Participation in leadership activities (Unit hospital or system Shared Governance meetings Precepting or Charge nurse role) Preferred.
- MI RN license Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
