If youre experienced skilled and driven by a passion to make a meaningful impact were searching for a LGBTQI/Chemsex Recovery Coordinator.

Your role involves engaging and assessing individuals affected by substance misuse ensuring they receive timely personalised interventions tailored to their individual needs.

Our vibrant Brighton service team includes service managers consultant psychiatrists doctors nurses healthcare assistants recovery staff volunteers administrators and peer mentors. Collectively we are devoted to providing the highest quality support and interventions for individuals using our services.

Location:Brighton
Full Time Hours:Fulltime hrs per week Monday to Friday)
Full Time Salary Range: 27861..35 (dependent on experience)

*Please note: Fulltime hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For parttime roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

The post holder will work within the service actively engaging service users from groups underrepresented in treatment services or those not accessing services.

The overarching aim of the Recovery Coordinator with the LGBTQI/Chemsex Team will be to:

  • Increase the number of LGBTQI/Chemsexservice users entering treatment
  • Ensure the service is easily accessible to LGBTQI/Chemsexclients
  • Meet the health social and psychological needs of this client group
  • Provide relevant health promotion and harm reduction advice
  • Develop and sustain positive working relationships with agencies in the wider community
  • Respond to emerging trends among service users
  • Engage with service users at different locations in the city to support their entry into treatment.
  • Caseload management such as regular risk assessments harm reduction advice and reviews provision of psychosocial interventions support clinical interventions cover of duty rota incl. some evening and Saturday work.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with substance misuse issues with a commitment to delivering quality services.
  • A clear understanding of issues relating to LGBTQI/Chemsexpeople who use our serviceandthe way they engage with support.
  • Experience in engaging with and providing interventions (in a substance misuse context) to LGBTQI people.
  • A commitment to multiagency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes forpeople who use our service e.g. mental health servicesLGBTQI advocacycriminal justice agenciessexual healthcommunity groups etc.
  • Accomplished written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of IT competency.
  • Excellent time management skills ability to work on own initiative caseload management prioritising accordingly.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
  • Good working knowledge of mental health interventions services and good practice.
  • Ability to work with your team to explore new opportunitiesand referral pathwaysto connect with people who have a treatment need but have previously been unable to access the service.
