TSL Professional Products Ltd is a company that designs manufactures markets and sells sophisticated electronic equipment and software solutions to broadcast and other industry endcustomers worldwide. With facilities in Marlow UK and Northridge California it is well placed to serve the main geographical markets.
This role will test faultfind and repair products and subassemblies for products including FPGA/CPU/GPU and pure software solutions.
A key requirement is an ability to interpret circuit diagrams and fault find to component level in an effective way and ensure products are tested in line with current health and safety and legal requirements and safe working practices are adhered to.
You will also help develop test processes procedures and jigs/rigs that ensure efficient and effective testing of products and provide feedback on test results to help drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all safety requirements are met and all mains powered equipment is safety tested before power is applied
- To carry out tests and repairs of the companys products which include Audio Monitoring Units Control system processors and interfaces and Power Distribution Units.
- To assist in the production and/or review of test procedures and test aids that ensure costeffective testing is provided while ensuring acceptable quality standards are met.
- Regular liaison with R&D to understand new products coming down the line and to contribute to NPI requirements from a testing perspective and with lessons learned from testing existing product lines.
- Regular liaison with postsales support to understand any regular field issues to assess any potential need to amend test procedures.
- Training of other production staff to support testing.
- To ensure test procedures are complied with and all data logging and recordkeeping requirements are met
- To ensure company quality procedures including ISO 9001:2015 are adhered to
- Carry out customer repairs where these are quickly identified and easily resolved on the test bench without the need to return to production.
- To work to assigned priorities such that production priorities are met
- To maintain the calibration status of key test equipment
- Fault diagnosis of nonconforming PCB assemblies and flag for return to suppliers
Key Skills/Attributes
- Strong level of expertise and experience in Broadcast Audio and communication signals testing is highly desirable
- High level of expertise in the testing and fault finding of analogue and digital equipment with FPGA/GPUs/CPUs and embedded software to component level
- Experience in the testing and fault finding of broadcast audio equipment a distinct advantage
- Familiar with or knowledge of SMPTE 2110 / 20226 IP protocols
- Familiar with SDI HDSDI AES
- Familiar with or knowledge of AES67 Madi Dante and Ravenna audio over IP protocols
- IP/IT network experience
- Experience with Xilinx/mplab platform programming via USB/header cable
- Familiar with safety requirements and capable of testing mains powered equipment
- Highly quality and customer focused with excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset ISO9001 experience desirable
- Ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines
- A dedicated enthusiastic and flexible approach is required
- Familiarity with working within a small production team is advantageous
- Willing to be crosstrained outside the usual job role if required
- Able to work to priorities as directed and able to use initiative when required
- Good communication skills are essential for both internal and external stakeholders
- Qualified to ONC/HNC or suitable experience
- High level of computer skills including Microsoft Word Mail and Excel. This will include loading of software product configuration data logging and programming of test equipment
