Job Description

POSITION: 1 Full time Contract (10 Months until March 2026)


QUALIFICATIONS:

Postsecondary degree in Social Work from an accredited university with current registration with the O.C.S.W.S.S.W; a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with current registration with the . (Preference to those with Canadian Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing); Bachelors Degree with a Social Service Worker Diploma and a current registration with the O.C.S.W.S.S.W; or a postsecondary degree with a relevant professional registration and/or Grandfathered PostSecondary Degree.


SALARY RANGE: as per salary grid


HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week including one day per week 10:307:00pm occasional Saturdays may be required.

STARTING DATE: May 2025

This position is responsible for providing support to adolescents and young adults 1225 years of age who are experiencing mental health issues. The incumbent will also provide additional supports to Adolescents/young adults to work toward the achievement of their goals as identified in the persons recovery plan and work closely with the primary worker.

Reporting to Integrated Youth Services Coordinator the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

  • promotes a stigma free youth culture for mental illness;
  • conducting and completing the detailed Community Mental Health Assessment;
  • assisting A/YA in prioritizing needs/areas of consideration and to develop shortterm plans to address these priorities;
  • promotes opportunities for increased independence and champions community peer development;
  • assists with group facilitation and support as needed and directed;
  • supporting reintegration into school work and social activities;

The candidate will work with other professionals using strong problem solving and communication skills.

A valid drivers license and use of a vehicle which will be used in conducting agency business is required.
