Job Description
Tasks
- Develop and implement predictive models to enhance sports performance through data analysis and machine learning techniques.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify datadriven insights that can influence coaching decisions and athlete training programs.
- Conduct rigorous statistical analyses of sports data to identify trends patterns and opportunities for optimization in athletic performance.
- Create comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in sports analytics and data science methodologies to continuously improve analytical practices and methodologies.
Requirements
Masters degree in Data Science Sports Science Statistics or a related field.
The ideal data scientist will have a deep understanding of the human body athletic performance and data analytics with a focus and experience in professional (and/or College) sports including the NFL NHL MLB and Major League Soccer.
They would also need experience with coaches trainers and sports professionals to leverage datadriven insights that enhance athlete performance optimize training regimens and contribute to injury prevention strategies. Preferably having a Masters or Ph.D. in Data Science Sports Science Kinesiology Biomechanics or a related field and 10 years experience preferably within the college of professional sports industry.
