Job Description
This role will play an important part in the development of TALs pricing experience insight capability by working with a vast array of data and models to deliver insights into portfolio pricing. The role will support the pricing of new and existing products through provision of insights and data analysis.
This position would ideally suit an analyst with an actuarial or maths background a creative mind and an interest in working in an innovative and highly technical environment. The successful candidate would be highly motivated to improve existing data and analytical processes to grow commercial value.
In this role you will:
- Support the pricing of new and existing products and propositions across TALs Individual Risk portfolio by developing new data and analytical capability using various tools and implementation methods (e.g. SQL Power BI R).
- Develop and execute pricing experience analysis for TALs Individual Life insurance portfolio on a regular basis and assist with the development of pricing assumption bases to inform pricing decisions.
- Maintain develop and enhance pricing databases models experience analysis calculations and processes.
- Promote continuous improvement in data collection to improve monitoring and insight.
- Build and conduct adhoc investigations to support enhancements to existing products and development of new products.
- Source key claims policy and underwriting data to assist with adhoc investigations by the wider Pricing and Value Management team.
Qualifications :
- Tertiary qualifications in actuarial mathematics statistics data science or equivalent.
- Proficiency in SQL Power BI (or equivalent) to extract and manipulate data and overcoming the associated technical challenges.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the principles and theory of experience analysis particularly for life insurance income protection business.
- Confidence and mastery of life insurance actuarial mathematics (preferred).
- Strong desire for ongoing modelling improvement and efficiency.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively to deal with technical challenges.
- Past exposure to experience and pricing analysis related work (preferred).
- Past exposure to actuarial modelling work (preferred).
- Desire to deal with new and unfamiliar requests.
