TITLE: Facility Manager REPORTS TO: Chief Facilities Strategy Officer CLASSIFIED: Full Time Exempt MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people especially those who need us most to realize their full potential as productive responsible and caring citizens. JOB SUMMARY:The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall management and custodial services of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains Inc. sites and extension facilities. All facilities are maintained and provide a safe and clean environment for staff and youth. The Facility Manager supervises and evaluates all custodial staff. The Facility Manager is expected to uphold the Club values inside and outside the Club. The Club values include teamwork impactdriven excellence & good character. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage custodial staff by creating and implementing performance plans semester reviews and individual and team staff meetings.
- Provide leadership direction and problemsolving to custodial staff in facility and custodial duties.
- Oversee the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve facility maintenance management and building sustainability and recommend appropriate modifications to improve program performance.
- Supervise and ensure custodial staff are performing cleaning duties including cleaning of tile sheet vinyl carpet and wood floors. This includes sweeping vacuuming mopping and scrubbing of floors. Other responsibilities include cleaning walls ceilings overhangs woodwork lockers bathrooms office areas windows furniture light fixtures drinking fountains chalkboards etc. Included would be assistance in applying sealers waxes and polishes involved in maintaining the flooring by the custodian maintenance schedule.
- Supervise and ensure custodial staff performs deep cleaning every quarter including carpet cleaning light fixtures roof filters annual gym and vinyl floors bathrooms and other deep cleaning determined as necessary.
- Perform light maintenance. Activities would include assembly replacing repairing painting and covering. These functions relate to furniture equipment doors switch plates receptacles dispensers and toilet lids hoses batteries and other equipment used during the usual duties.
- Perform building and grounds checks and reporting to the CFSO any unsafe conditions or breaking/trespassing situations by unauthorized individuals.
- General Staff Assistance: These activities include moving furniture and equipment unique setups or takedowns for certain activities and assisting staff with special needs.
- Maintain current files on job policies inventory records and needed repairs. Travel to each Unit routinely to meet with and support custodial staff.
- Organize and work with all outside vendors and trades on building/facility repairs and needs.
- Contact organize implement and maintain all contract services with outside partners.
- Assist in the planning organizing and scheduling of cleaning and maintaining the Boys & Girls Club buildings.
- Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance functions including minor repair part replacement and adjustment tasks.
- Responsible for the entire organizations vehicle fleet including maintenance and repairs
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the Facility Maintenance Plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate degree required; Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience with custodial services
- Management/Supervisory Experience
- Building or facility maintenance experience
- Budget and Contract Service Experience is preferred
- Ability to do Light Maintenance
- Must be able to provide leadership onthespot and reflective feedback and supervision to assigned employees
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be of the mental and physical capacity to interact and communicate with staff at the Club to ensure the safety of the facility
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Persons performing service in this position classification will frequently exert 50 to 75 pounds of force to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. This type of work may involve ascending and descending ladders stairs scaffolding and ramps including walking or standing for extended periods.
- Perceiving the nature of sound far and near vision depth perception providing oral information the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools and handling and working with various materials and objects are essential tasks of this job.
- Exposure to hot cold wet humid or windy conditions caused by weather may be occasionally experienced.
- Ability to operate various types of general office and maintenance equipment.
- This position is considered to be safetysensitive.
