Position Summary: CHN is looking for atemporaryexperienced Construction Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing all facets of construction for Single Family Preservation from project conception to successful project completion. This position will work closely with other SFP staffers and oversee thirdparty contractors and trades in a variety of programs and be responsible for administering home repair and acquisition rehabilitation projects through the construction period punch list completion and project closeout. This includes managing the project budget timeline and compliance with funding requirements.
The rate of pay for this position is $75000 annually FLSA Exempt however please note this is a Temporary position through August 1 2025.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
In the Construction Superintendent Single Family Preservation role you will utilize your excellent written and oral communication skills including demonstrated skill leading group discussions to staff project kickoff meetings and ensure all details and intentions of each project are understood and met from the project outset. You will also attend and contribute to site walkthroughs on a regular basis and closely oversee thirdparty contractors and trades to consistently ensure timely project completions while developing strong working relationships with said partners.
You will regularly review construction documents to ensure compliance with building program requirements and perform field/safety inspections and ensure onsite compliance with OSHA standards. When procuring necessary project permits including coordination with local municipality staff and politicians you will exercise your strong negotiating skills and proven political acumen and maintain the highest levels of professionalism at all times.
You will pay close attention to detail in providing solutions to problems as they arise and you will provide leadership on new project types ensuring consistent successful construction closeout and coordinated turnover of property. You will ensure that all product warranties and installation warranties are properly retained and passed on to the clientele as needed and at all times facilitate positive relationships with other CHN departments and outside agencies to ensure successful project completion.
In addition you will:
  • Have the ability to learn and utilize BuilderTrend and/or other construction management software/app and effectively utilize it to efficiently manage construction projects.
  • Help develop schedules in Buildertrend and/or other construction management software/app and adjust as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Inspect work performed and approve invoices in Buildertrend and/or other construction management software/app.
Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including demonstrated skill in group discussions.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and associated tools and ability to learn new construction software.
  • Strong negotiating skills and sound political acumen.
  • Ability to read interpret and evaluate construction documents.
  • Selfmotivated with excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Ability to take initiative and improve efficiency of work responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of home repair and rehabilitation projects across multiple programs.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Education:
  • Bachelors degreein related field which may be supplemented with experience.
Experience:
  • Three to Five (35) years of experience in SingleFamily rehabilitation SingleFamily remodeling SingleFamily new construction affordable housing.
Preferred:
  • OSHA 10 certified or willingness/ability to obtain certification.
Other:
  • Must have valid drivers license current automobile insurance and access to a car.
  • This position requires travel to all CHN service areas primarily within a 3hour radius.
