Job Description
The City of OFallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Head Lifeguard. Are you looking for a parttime opportunity where you can use your skills in decision making problem solving and dealing with the public Our Lifeguards enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment. Our Lifeguards earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $15.85 hourly with opportunity of increase every 750 hours worked.
As part of our Recreation Department this position plays an important role in the safety of the patrons of Renaud Center in and around the pool. Generally youll work varying schedules approximately 25 hours per week.
As a Lifeguard your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that swimming pools are operational during shift
- Evaluating the work of Lifeguards and Swim Instructors
- Testing pool chemicals regularly
- Providing first aid and emergency responses when needed
- Maintaining shift reports chemical logs and inservice logs
- Providing information and top notice customer service to patrons
Were looking for someone who is a great communicator and interested in growing their supervisory skills. This person should be able to easily learn department policies and procedures including pool operation guidelines and principles and the use of pool chemicals. Availability to work evenings and weekend shifts is required.

Applicants must:
- Have the Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard License
- Have First Aid and CPR certification
- The ability to lift 50 pounds swim 200 yards submerge self feet first in 15 feet of water
- Be at least 16 years of age
