Description1 Clinical skills
- Exhibits working knowledge of all MRI equipment and procedures.
- Refers to physicians orders/chart for any special instructions that may be indicated.
- Routinely questions the patient before procedure to obtain patient history.
- Explains procedure completely to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety.
- Performs all procedures in an efficient and timely manner without compromising quality or the mission statement.
- Coordinates MRI schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting.
2 Patient/General Safety
- Corrects and reports accidents incidents and safety hazards.
- Uses PPE (personal protective equipment) when appropriate.
- Is aware of potential chemical hazards and how to access MSDS information.
- Uses good body mechanics when moving patients.
- Adheres to infection control practices.
3 Equipment Maintenance
- Reports all equipment problems to chief technologist and places service call through call center.
4 Documentation/Communication
- Complete Exam Data Entry fields on all exams
- Documents all pertinent information i.e. patient history tech initials
5 Other duties as assigned.
- Is available to work a rotating oncall schedule to ensure 24hour coverage of the MRI Department
- Assist in other areas of the department as workload permits.
- Keeps areas well stocked at all times.
- Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values Service and Quality.

Qualifications- MRI courses required; Associates Degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program previous experience to have thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology practices and procedures preferred along with knowledge in physiology and human anatomy and MRI experience.
- Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients individual needs based on medical conditions age limitations and planned procedures.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (MR)(R).
- Current BLS
