Reporting to Student Academic Affairs the Outreach and Support Academic Advisor prioritizes outreach to identified student subpopulations to develop pedagogy and curriculum to enhance student academic success by designing developing and facilitating student support programming and through a case management model. The position emphasizes student development resilience and retention ensuring targeted interventions for diverse student subpopulations.
With a strong commitment to studentcentered decisionmaking the Advisor partners with students to develop individualized academic success plans aligning supports programming and curriculum with their needs goals and lived experiences.
The Advisor collaborates with Student Affairs the Academic Success Centre Counselling the Centre for Accessibility Services and other professional units to develop and implement student success initiatives. The role also includes proactive outreach policy interpretation and serving as a student liaison and partner ensuring academic advising meets the Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) in Higher Education: Advising Standards.
