Job Description
Job Summary
Key Staffing is seeking a skilled and safetyconscious Refrigeration Technician for a temptohire opportunity with one of our industrial clients. This position is responsible for the safe operation inspection maintenance and repair of the facilitys HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems. The technician works closely under the guidance of the Refrigeration Supervisor to support efficient production and facility reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Start up operate and shut down HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Monitor and record system performance including pressures temperatures and electrical readings.
Adjust system controls to maintain efficient safe and compliant operations.
Perform preventive maintenance and limited repairs on refrigeration equipment.
Replace electrical circuit components (nondesign altering).
Inspect HVAC ventilation and mechanical systems regularly for performance and safety.
Document refrigerant use maintenance activities and system performance per regulatory standards.
Respond to urgent equipment issues including afterhours situations to ensure safety and uptime.
Ensure compliance with EPA PSM and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems or equivalent training/education.
Familiarity with P&ID diagrams EPA regulations and Process Safety Management (PSM).
Basic computer literacy and ability to complete written documentation accurately.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
Requires standing walking climbing crouching and working in confined spaces.
Exposure to high noise wet or humid environments extreme temperatures and electrical hazards.
Work Environment
- Industrial setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions.
- Moderate to high noise levels depending on equipment and production status.
