Job Description
Work directly for a Central New Jersey area construction firm.
Accounts Payable Manager
Position is onsite MondayFriday no hybrid/WFH. A background in the construction industry is preferred for understanding the unique financial aspects and terminology associated with construction projects but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Process invoices and payments electronically in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Perform daytoday financial transactions including verifying classifying computing posting and recording account payables data using Sage 300 and HH2.
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
Maintain accurate and organized records of all AP transactions
Monitor vendor payment agreements to ensure payments are up to date
Assist with monthend closing activities and prepare reports as needed
Support the finance team with additional tasks and projects as required
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting Finance or related field (Bachelors degree preferred)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage HH2 Foundation or similar)
Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights
Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of construction industry practices and terminology is preferred but not mandatory
Must have strong attention to detail and data analysis capabilities
Excellent communication skills and problemsolving abilities
Ability to handle a high volume of transactions in a fastpaced environment
Vendor relationship management skills
Keen understanding of accounting principles with a focus on accuracy and timely processing of invoices.
