Division Team Lead position oversees and manages the DDC Locally Administrated Projects (LAP) and DMSTIP Units. Assists these units with their portfolio of projects during the preconstruction phase to ensure project scopes schedules and budgets are adhered to and defined outcomes are met which includes estimate validate reestimate (as needed) project times and schedules; maintain overview of project tasks and consistency with established project schedule; maintain project milestones in enterprise tracking system (STaRs); work with team members to expedite the completion of critical tasks to meet deadlines and review their work; prepare and update reports; track project changes; frequent interaction with resources and permitting agencies; participate and review of NEPA and SEPA documents; facilitate and guide transportation projects through the project development and merger process manage risks for each project and ensure that projects meet our quality standards. Manages the Project Engineers the Local Project Manager Contract Engineer and DDC Engineer. Interacts with Chief Engineer Division Engineers Unit Heads FHWA local government officials legislative representatives congressional delegates advocacy groups and the general public. Assists the Division Project Development Engineer in managing the allocation and utilization of all resources by focusing resources on project delivery with the outcome of delivering projects within scope and budget and on schedule; setting performance measures and goals; measuring work accomplished; making recommendations regarding employee performance/disciplinary issues; providing instruction guidance and coaching to team members and participating in the hiring process for filling vacant positions. Collaborates and coordinates with various team members initially and during project development on project scope deliverables schedule key decisions risk assessments and other issues. Assists the Division Project Development Engineer with providing oversight and Division input on projects managed by PMU SMU Rail Division Feasibilities Unit and other Central Office teams.

Bachelors degree in engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and a minimum of six years progressive engineering experience including four years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
