Job Description
Position Overview:
NCSG Hauling & Riggingis seeking a2nd or 3rd year HeavyDuty Apprentice Mechanicto assist our maintenance team that supports ourCalgaryshop. The HeavyDuty Apprentice Mechanic will be responsible for effectively performing maintenance and service of property equipment and vehicles.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Perform daily maintenance of property equipment (i.e. Trucks and Platform Trailers) and vehicles throughout the facility.
- Inspect and evaluate operating conditions of equipment and vehicles.
- Perform maintenance activities and modify existing equipment and systems to keep the facility in good running order.
- Read understand and follow hydraulic pneumatic and electrical diagrams.
- Ensure that all maintenance is completed in accordance with established department policies and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions to update technical knowledge as needed.
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2nd or 3rd year apprentices will be considered and apprentices with previous truck and trailer experience will be preferred.
- Must have a valid and current apprenticeship in place.
- CVIP Tech License would be an asset.
- Valid Drivers License with clean drivers abstract.
- Experience working with Heavy Haul Trucks particularly with Cumminss/Detroit Diesel engines and SISU Planetary axles and Platform Trailers would be preferred.
- Experience with Sheuerle and Goldhofer trailers an asset. Training could be provided for suitable candidates.
- Ability to work in a teamoriented environment.
Additional Training Requirements:
- CSTS 2020.
- CSO.
- WHIMIS 2015.
- First Aid.
Position Details:
- Must have own tools for start of work term and remove them at end of work term at own expense.
- Successful completion of preemployment alcohol & drug testing required.
