Job Description

The Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1968 to enrich the lives of youth seniors homeless populations economically disadvantaged families and underserved individuals in South Los Angeles by providing and facilitating a variety of essential educational services social services cultural activities vocational opportunities and economic empowerment opportunities.

Brotherhood Crusade envisions a South Los Angeles devoid of health disparities disenfranchisement and poverty associated adverse public health conditions. SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Coordinator of Employer Services works with employers to understand their needs develop solutions to address their needs help employers develop greater acuity in working with participants and facilitates employment opportunities for participants; helps the Workforce Development Instructor build curricular pedagogy; and works with the PostEmployment Liaison to facilitate solutions solidify client employment and further develop participant skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Conduct a minimum of six weekly employer contacts to understand their business needs describe program support and highlight relevant participant strengths
Meet with and present to businesses employers and workforce partners to explain the YouthSource Center workforce model and its success criteria for graduates fostering partnerships for stepwise employment opportunities
Collaborate with employers and partners to develop and implement stepwise employment opportunities ensuring sustained success for graduates
Work with entrylevel and livingwage employers to create an employment pipeline for seamless transitions and livingwage careers
Secure internships and job shadowing opportunities to aid participants in progressing through stepwise employment phases
Secure agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with partnering employers
Identify job leads negotiate transitional and permanent employment opportunities and match applicant qualifications with employer needs
Maintain records of unselected applicants develop strategies to support them and create support plans with Case Managers
Assist youth in securing employment and maintain a database and statistics tracking participant progress as required by funding partners
Collaborate with program staff (Case Manager Workforce Development Instructor Job Placement Liaison College and Career Counselor and Attendance Administrator) to ensure communication and alignment in achieving customer satisfaction and job placement goals
Support sustained employment and career transitions for program graduates in coordination
with the Job Placement Liaison and Workforce Development Instructor
Assist in monitoring job placements and collecting data to ensure program graduates succeed in employment and career objectives
Facilitate preemployment and postemployment workshops and professional development opportunities
Provide timely interventions and return employer calls within 8 hours or less
Develop individual employment plans in collaboration with program participants and Case Managers.
Fulfill any other duties as requested or required by the organization

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training:
Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or similar field (MSW a plus)
Minimum 5 years of paid experience in workforce development case management/career counseling and/or recruiting
Bilingual/Spanish a plus
Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record and own transportation

Related Experience:
Minimum 2 years of paid experience in job development
1 year experience facilitating workshops
$71000 $78000 a year
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Drivers License.

Due to our inperson and in office work with LAUSD City of LA County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID19 vaccinated with either Pfizer Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED
The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers telephones desks chairs and office machines. Additionally each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.

SALARY RANGE:
Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience education and the needs of the program.

This program is unique in that the successful candidate may be working with individuals who heretofore have never been exposed to the subject matter and as such may not readily adopt the precepts or methodologies. Moreover these clients may exhibit stressrelated emotions such as tension frustration and anger. The successful candidate must understand this phenomenon and possess a psychologically stable profile and a demeanor that minimizes the opportunity that these emotions will escalate to conflict.

Must be available to work Monday Friday from 9:00am 5:30pm.
