Job Description

This internship is parttime temporary.
This position is unclassified per 124.11 (A) (12) Ohio Revised Code.
Travel required as needed. Must provide own transportation. Or in order to operate a state vehicle you must have a valid drivers license from state of residence.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. This internship may be telework eligible on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do At ODM:
Office: Fiscal Operations
Position Title: College Intern (PN)
Internship Overview
The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking a College Intern to join our Fiscal Operations office. The College Intern will assist our Fiscal team with a variety of key projects and work related to ODMs 2026/2027 biennial budget process and the beginning of State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2026 including:
- Tracking federal budget proposals that might impact the Medicaid program
- Tracking state budget proposals that might impact the Medicaid program
- Preparing formulating and tracking fiscal impact statements on federal and/or state statutes and policies
- Analyzing and formulating revenue and expenditure data for monitoring and reporting purposes
- Reconciling payment and data issues
- Federal grant management and reporting
- Desk reviews and analyses of cost reports
- Receipt of checks/revenue and other mail
- Preparing deposit transactions
- Running reports in Cognos BI
- General ledger adjustments/entries
- Disbursement estimates and tracking for SFY 2026

Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (undergraduate or graduate)
- Preferred academic majors include Accounting Finance Economics Mathematics Statistics or a similar field of study
