The Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager Athletics the Fitness Associate/Personal Trainer is responsible for providing support services to the Fitness Centre during regular operating hours: weekdays weekends and evenings.

The Fitness Associate/Personal Trainer is responsible for promoting and delivering personal training services that ensure clients receive professional exercise instruction with attention to personal safety in an invitational and inclusive environment. The incumbent is expected to follow all Health & Wellness Centre procedures and protocols and follow their certification scope of practice.

What you need to be successful:

  • diploma or degree in Fitness Physical Education Kinesiology or equivalent
  • Fitness Instructor Certification (OFC CSEP canfitpro)
  • Personal Trainer Certification (OFC CSEP canfitpro)
  • one year experience in a fitness facility
  • experience with group and individualized fitness programming
  • valid CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills
  • strong interpersonal skills to work effectively both individually and within a collaborative team environment

This is a regular parttime support staff position up to 24 hours per week $22.84/hour.
