Who are we looking for

Were looking for an Environmental Technician or Technologist (Intermediate or Senior) to join our Halifax team at our Bedford office!

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Perform field work to supervise site investigations related to environmental characterizations of soil and groundwater and land rehabilitation (by excavation in situ treatment and biopile or other remedial process);
  • Perform exploration trenching drilling in situ geotechnical testing installation of observation wells soil and groundwater sampling;
  • Perform Phase I to III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
  • Support Emergency Response (ER) services for environmental spills/releases;
  • Conduct field activities that include sampling of groundwater soil soil vapour sediment and/or surface water;
  • Perform oversight of excavation and drilling activities;
  • Implement and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites;
  • Providing accurate field notes;
  • Complete topographic surveying and survey layouts;
  • Supervise subcontractors on the sites;
  • Project task coordination and ability to oversee projects implement field work and report to Project Team; and
  • Write site reports and other technical documents.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Engineering technology diploma in environmental or higher level of education.
  • Relevant experience of minimum 5 years in environmental site characterization and rehabilitation;
  • Bilingual capabilities considered an asset (but not required);
  • Possess a valid drivers license and a vehicle;
  • Autonomous methodical responsible resourceful and punctual person;
  • Available for a variable schedule;
  • Available to work on sites outside the region on occasion.
