Vast is looking for a Technical Project Manager Avionics reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Projects to lead hardware development production and qualification projects for Avionics (RF EMC and Radiation Effects Teams) at Vast.
This will be a fulltime exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project plans and schedules for space rated avionics hardware development and test campaigns
- Communicate schedule and strategize with other team leaders and technical project managers that work in tandem with the Avionics Power RF EMC and radiation effects teams
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships
- Ensure the Avionics hardware teams meet project deadlines and company objectives
- Foster strong partnerships with engineers to drive systemlevel thinking and empower ownership of the broader impact of their work
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Physics or related engineering discipline
- 2 years of experience leading technical projects
- 2 years of experience in an engineering role
- Champion a culture rooted in excellence respect accountability and safety
- Leverage strong judgment to distill information and communicate key insights clearly and concisely to leadership and stakeholders both in writing and verbally
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Track record leading a cross disciplinary project on schedule in a startup environment
- Ms or PhD in electrical engineering computer engineering physics or related engineering discipline
- Prior engineering experience in electrical hardware development for space applications
Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Pay Range:
Technical Project Manager: $135000$180000
Salary Range: California
$135000 $180000 USD
