Media Technology Support Liaison
The Media Technology Support Liaison will work with all staff to assist users with technical issues. This person will be responsible for support both Mac and Windows users but will focus primarily in the management and upkeep of Apple iMac Mini Pro iPad iPod Apple TV running various revisions of OS and various types of software throughout the district. This position will work closely with LPSD network managers Integration Specialists and the Director to ensure all hardware and software is functioning in an effort to help staff integrate technology into the classroom. The Media Technology Support Liaison will assist with computer system upgrades maintenance repairs and software installations with appropriate communication protocols and followup. In addition the Media Technology Support Liaison will assist with gathering writing and sharing of knowledge base articles to be delivered to staff via online help desk application.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the successful integration of technology into all subject areas within all educational programs in the Lowell Public Schools to the extent that these technologies are always prepared and in working order to become significant tools for effective teaching and learning;
2. Use JAMF management system to oversee inventory of equipment and manage all Apple hardware in the system.
3. Assist with the coordination of technology repairs and installations of technologies in all schools;
4. Assist and support school staff in maintaining expanding and enhancing their use of technology
5. Work with network managers to fix and enhance network connectivity for all staff and classroom technology.
6. Assist and support district and school staff in the use the technology resources available to them.
7. Perform imaging for various hardware types and be able to make fixes to user computers remotely.
8. Assist the Help Desk Coordinator by providing inventory reports from the management
system about all Apple hardware.
9. Assist with the development of updates to the districts technology plan consistent with reporting requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
10. Provide technical expertise to individual teachers and administrative staff in the district.
11. Assists in the preparation of federal state and private funding opportunities.
12. Provide professional advice to the Director of ICTS on items requiring his/her action with appropriate recommendations based on thorough study and analysis of the constantly changing technology and education sectors.
13. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Information Communication and Technology Services.
Qualification:
A minimum of five (5) years experience within a school setting or other appropriate related work experience;
Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and installation of MAC/WIN operating systems servers and printers.
Knowledge of backup procedures and storage hardware. Knowledge of imaging using various management systems and network troubleshooting procedures;
Knowledge of educational technologies including iPad Android Google Chrome LMS Wireless Infrastructure and other types of technology used in the education environment.
Ability to travel to all school buildings in LPSD.
Preference May Be Given To Applicants With:
Experience in customer service related fields
Experience with installation of parts memory and other upgrades
Knowledge of Windows and Mac networking including knowledge of LDAP
Experience with JAMF (especially if certified with CCA or CMA)
Experience or willingness to learn apple scripting and command line linux
Experience with Apple configurator iOS 7 and up Apple ID creation App Store/Volume Purchase Program and distribution of apps via redemption code and institutionally shared
Experience with Mac OS inside a windows network specifically machine binding and Active Directory
Experience training other educators or adults in applications and/or network support
Experience with shared cart model of hardware and supporting that model across multiple locations
Experience with technical documentation and knowledge base writing for the nontechnical end user
Must be a team player
Excellent communication and followup skills

Salary: $50000 $65000 Per Year
