Job Description

Clayton High School serves a diverse body of approximately 800 students. We believe that participation in athletics and extracurricular activities has a positive effect on student High Schoolis seeking a passionate and experienced Diving Coach to lead and develop our high school swim and dive teams diving program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive diving program creating tailored workout plans and providing differentiated instruction to athletes of all ability levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead all aspects of the high school diving program.
  • Commit to attending all scheduled swim and dive team practices and competitions.
  • Serve as a fair and consistent judge at diving competitions.
  • Create and implement customized workout plans that address the specific needs of each diver.
  • Provide differentiated coaching and instruction to accommodate athletes with varying levels of experience and skill.
  • Assist the head coach with individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in theactivity
  • Assist the head coach in all aspects of the activity such as but not limited to practices and games
  • Assist the head coach in the responsibility for the regulations under MSHSAA and Title IX
  • Assist the head coach in the maintenance and proper utilization of facilities
  • Ability to promote and maintain strong parental and community involvement
  • Assist the head coach in selecting assigning and evaluating all activity personnel for the activity
  • Assist the head coach in establishing the performance criteria for participation in an interscholastic activity
  • Assist the head coach in maintaining appropriate and accurate records for each activity
  • Responsibility for the safety conduct and general welfare of students
  • Maintain high standards of student conduct
  • Inventory and maintain equipment
  • Prepare appropriate reports as required by the District and the State
  • Represent the District on the appropriate committee
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Maintain confidentiality unquestionable integrity

Position: Parttime temporary season specific.

Education: Bachelors Degree preferred.

Certification:Must meet requirements as outlined in MSHSAA ByLaws.

Experience: One year of teaching and one year of coaching preferred. Working with schoolaged children and background in education is strongly desired.

Compensation: Based upon coaching experience.

FLSA Status:Exempt Professional ExemptionTeacher.
