To learn more please visit Sustainment Technologies Transition (STT) division closely supports the USAF in technology transition of advanced manufacturing technologies. This position is located at UDRIs facility in Dayton OH and will focus on supporting transition of additive manufacturing (AM) and repair technologies using nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods of xray computed tomography (XCT) digital radiography (DR) xray diffraction (XRD) electromagnetic testing (ET) immersion ultrasonic testing (UT) and fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI). Key tasks include applying USAF and industry standards and best practices to establish NDE acceptance and rejection criteria inspection methods and procedures for emerging technologies as well as performing and reporting XCT scanning reconstruction and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

R2 Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in science engineering engineering technology or equivalent OR 7 years demonstrated experience and performance in the NDE field.
2. 3 years of multiindustry NDE experience applying xray computed tomography (XCT) or nonfilm radiographic techniques and fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) to evaluation of materials and components.
3. Certifiable as an American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II in radiographic testing (RT).
4. Experience using Volume Graphics or similar software for CT image processing and data analysis.
5. Research experience including planning conducting experiments analysis and interpretation.
6. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and clients at all levels.
8. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

An R3 must meet all R2 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below.
1. Additional 5 years of multiindustry NDE experience applying XCT or nonfilm radiographic techniques and fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI).
2. Certified as an ASNT Level III in RT.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

R2 Preferred Qualifications
1. ASNT Level II certification(s) in other method(s).
2. Experience in additional NDE methods including xray diffraction (XRD) electromagnetic testing (ET) and ultrasonic testing (UT).
3. Experience with NDE of additively manufactured (AM) materials and components.
4. NDE experience within the aerospace industry or DoD.
5. Project management experience.
6. Demonstrated technical writing skills.
7. Working knowledge of USAF policies and procedures.

Additional R3 Preferred Qualifications
1. ASNT Level III certification(s) in UT or other method(s).
2. Experience with quality systems and NDE written practice development.
