Please review the following job description:

Provide internal and external preliminary investigations into suspicious activities and other highrisk transactions not excluding money laundering and terrorist financing with an emphasis on data management risk management and loss prevention analysis. Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations by investigating analyzing and decisioning related cases reports and alerts according to stated policy and procedure.

This position will sit inoffice 4 days a week locations for consideration are listed. No remote option available. No additional locations will be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Conduct timely comprehensive investigations of customers noncustomers and/or teammates by utilizing all available information.
  • Research transactional anomalies and analyze information produced to detect any patterns of unusual internal or external conduct and identify risk policy breakdowns.
  • Communicate results of analysis and/or research to appropriate departmental leadership including conclusions and recommendations for next steps.
  • Communicate with Relationship Managers branch associates and others as needed to gather additional client information. Act as a point of contact for case or alert questions and support.
  • Responsible for identifying suspicious transactions or those in violation of applicable BSA/AML/OFAC laws and regulations.
  • Participate in BSA/AML/OFAC related training that may include webinars periodicals and self study in order to stay abreast of any related changing laws and regulations.
  • Serve as subject matter experts in their respective roles (BSA/AML OFAC) for other teams supporting the same function.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Three Four years of banking financial industry or related experience; preferably in a branch audit compliance or lendingrelated area.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with BSA regulations and related compliance requirements including reporting and record retention requirements and understanding of how changes in those regulations or compliance requirements affect Financial Crimes.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the risk indicator trends in money laundering terrorist financing and the ability to position processes to ensure mitigation of those risks at Truist.
  • Strong investigative research and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a highstress fastpaced and rapidly changing environment with timecritical situations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and line of business managers and external entities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in investigation law enforcement or lending role
  • Demonstrated Audit or Public Accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with BSA transaction monitoring or case management applications
  • Knowledge of SAR filing requirements
  • Strong practical or management experience in investigative functions as it relates to current and proposed BSA/AML USA PATRIOT Act laws and regulations specifically as they apply to money laundering terrorist financing and OFAC
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) Certified AntiMoney Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or other specialized compliance education/professional designation
