We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Performing Arts Choir Teacher Leader. In this role you will provide leadership and coordination for choir programs across our state and district. You will collaborate closely with choir teachers and district teams to plan organize and promote events share important communications and support the development of curriculum and instructional resources.
WSD Choir Events:
- Support all WSD Choir Event Chairs in planning and organizing choirrelated performing arts events.
- Collaborate with Choir Event Chairs to set goals establish event themes determine logistics and allocate resources effectively.
- Facilitate regular team meetings providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of events.
- Maintain all WSD Choir Event Chair folders throughout the year following up with feedback after events and updating folders with any necessary additional information or changes.
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise for WSD Choir events and collaborate with others for solutions.
- Assist Choir Event Chairs with event planning including budgeting adhering to WSD policy and achieving desired outcomes.
Information Distribution:
- Maintain clear communication channels with choir teachers to ensure that timely and relevant information is shared.
- Distribute updates on upcoming choir events workshops training opportunities and other relevant resources to teachers via various communication platforms (email newsletters websites etc.).
- Respond promptly to inquiries from teachers addressing concerns and providing necessary assistance.
- Help create distribute and maintain a districtwide choir event calendar for WSD.
Curriculum and Resource Development:
- Lead district teams in developing comprehensive curriculum and instructional resources for choir education.
- Collaborate with district teams to identify curriculum gaps develop learning objectives and create engaging and innovative teaching materials for choir programs.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in choir education integrating new approaches and strategies into the curriculum.
- Continue and promote the districts work in developing vertical alignment of core choir skills across grade levels.
Professional Development:
- Organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for choir teachers.
- Coordinate workshops seminars and training sessions to enhance teachers skills knowledge and pedagogical practices in choir education while aligning with USBE Performing Arts Standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting collaboration and knowledgesharing among choir teachers.
Qualifications:
- Valid Utah Secondary Education Teaching License
- Extensive experience in choir education including planning and organizing events.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teachers district teams and committee members.
- Knowledge of curriculum development principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Uptodate knowledge of industry trends best practices and emerging technologies in choir education.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
