SENIOR CUSTOMS & LOGISTICS MANAGER (RAIL INDUSTRY)

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Matric
Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics Management NQF 8(ESSENTIAL)
Minimum of 10 years experience in Customs regulations and procedures for African countries DRC Zambia Tanzania Zimbabwe Angola Mozambique Namibia(ESSENTIAL)
Incoterms (ESSENTIAL)
Strong Customs processes documentation regulations and compliance experience for locomotives engineering components and parts
Industry experience and exposure to the Rail industry
Must have excellent communication & reporting skills in English
Highly experienced in cost management and financial reporting
Highly experienced in international trade & trade agreements
Computer proficiency:MS Office Programmes&Sage Evolution ERP(ESSENTIAL)
Highly proficient on Sage Evolution (for invoice generation for imports & export shipments)
Experienced in dealing with Clearing & Forwarding agents for import & export shipments
Duties include:Manage full customs clearance process for imports and exports coordinate transportation dispatch and delivery client liaison reporting to SC Manager be informed of country regulation updates or changes and procedures manage costs in line with customs clearance and full logistics process identify opportunities for company cost saving iniatives practice financial acumen in role provide leadership to team track & analyse logistics performance metrics
Strong leadership and team management skills
Own reliable vehicle & valid Drivers Licence (no endorsements)
Willing to relocate to Pretoria at own cost / based in Pretoria

Key Performance Areas & Duties:
Customs Compliance:Manage customs clearance processes for locomotives wagons and spare parts ensuring compliance with regulations and minimising delays
Logistics Oversight:Coordinate transportation dispatch and delivery of locomotive spare parts ensuring timely and efficient deliveries
Regulatory Updates:Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and update procedures accordingly
Financial Management:Manage costs associated with customs clearance and logistics identifying opportunities for cost savings and demonstrating financial acumen
Team Leadership:Provide leadership to staff involved in import and export operations
Performance Monitoring:Tracking and analysing logistics performance metrics identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency
