As a Writer Grassroots on our Editorial Team youll play a key role in empowering millions of people across the country to advocate for policy changes that get results. Youll translate complex ideas into compelling narratives that connect with grassroots audiences and donor partners alike by writing across platforms for Stand Together and key partners including Americans for Prosperity (AFP) AFP Action The LIBRE Initiative and Concerned Veterans for America helping to drive societal change through effective storytelling that emphasizes aligning the key institution of government to its proper role. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong communicator who thrives in a fastpaced environment understands the power of voice and tone and wants to make a national impact through written word.
How You Will Contribute
- Write highimpact content including emails blog posts direct mail reports and event communications that inspire grassroots advocates and donor audiences.
- Develop messaging that clearly conveys Stand Togethers and AFPs perspectives on key issues like elections the economy health care immigration and the role of government.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including government affairs elections and policy teams to inform communications strategy and align content with organizational goals.
- Adapt to evolving priorities with a selfdriven entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to results.
- Deliver persuasive content on tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy clarity and consistency.
What You Will Bring
- 3 years of professional writing experience preferably in grassroots politics journalism or political communications.
- Exceptional writing editing and proofreading skills with an eye for brevity and accuracy.
- Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and translate them into narratives that connect with distinct audiences.
- Strong understanding of the public policy landscape at the state and federal levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Togethers vision and principled approach to solving problems and a commitment to stewarding our culture which champions values including transformation and innovation entrepreneurialism humility and respect.
Standout Candidates Will Bring
- Experience writing for grassroots or advocacy audiences across multiple formats and channels.
- Familiarity with brand voice content strategy and working within a style guide.
