What You Will Do

The Development Operations Assembly Equipment Design team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer preferably with assembly tooling design and structural analysis experience. The Design Engineer will work with other disciplines; Project Process Planning Product Design Engineering to fulfill the task of designing equipment for the assembly disassembly inspection and test of Pratt & Whitney commercial and military development and mature jet engines.

• Produce technically sound computer aided design models and drawings for equipment used in the assembly disassembly and inspection of Pratt & Whitney engine products.

• Produce technically sound structural analysis reports on assembly equipment designs.

• Advise Assembly Equipment Project engineers on assembly processes and equipment design requests.

• Utilize standardized procedures and CORE tools to continuously improve the assembly equipment design process.

• Provide support for development engine assembly process changes.

• Provide support for new and revised equipment initial tryouts.

• Provide support for physical equipment alterations and manufacture through interfacing with machinists.

• Travel is up to 10% based on business needs.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.

• 8 years of Mechanical Design engineering experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of Mechanical Design engineering experience.

• Experience with blueprints dimensions & tolerances and manufacturing methods.

• Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M1994.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Experience with Teamcenter Unigraphics NX ANSYS and classical methods of structural analysis.

• Assembly equipment experience turbine jet engine assembly/disassembly equipment experience a plus.

• Turbine jet engine architecture experience.

• Active Secret Clearance

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
