Are you ready to take your career to new heights in the aerospace industry Collins Aerospace a leader in aviation technology is offering an exciting opportunity for an Strategic Buyer to join our fastpaced and innovative team. In this role you will play a crucial part in the production of highend aviation seating switches and lighting products for renowned airlines such as Qantas Etihad Emirates and British Airways.
This is your chance to be part of a team of professionals where you will be responsible for the compliant costeffective acquisition of materials and services that are within budget to support the contractual service delivery requirements to customers.
Working in the Purchasing Team the Strategic Buyer is tasked with ensuring Programs are delivered on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering a program ready supply chain for repeat purchases.
- Supplier selection and approval in line with purchasing strategy.
- Ensuring budgets for projects are met engaging in cost reduction and supplier development.
- Engaging in departmental improvement projects.
- Working with the buyers to maintain and achieve cost savings.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a Supply Chain role is essential experience of delivering a highquality service in a fastpaced procurement environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to develop good relationships with people at all levels.
- Able to multitask and manage own time effectively able to work under pressure and to set deadlines.
- Experience of using MS Office MRP systems e.g. SAP Access or similar
- Exposure to Aviation requirements and standards preferred but not essential
- Ability to interpret and implement supply chain strategies and category plans
CIPS qualification or studying towards preferred but not essential
