Outreach Sales Specialist
OrilliaMatters a part of the dynamic Village Media network of 26 news sites in Ontario is searching for a talented and motivated Outreach Sales Specialist to fill a parttime role that is primarily responsible for generating sales leads for the regional sales team for our rapidly growing local news and information website.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic selfstarter who is passionate about helping to connect businesses with our large local audience across Simcoe County.
The Sales Specialist is entrusted to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with local businesses agencies or individuals and work with them to reach their target audience through various Village Media advertising channels and services.
The successful candidate will:
Have the ability to connect with people over the phone
Generate sales leads in support of regional targets
Prospect for new business using sales funnel techniques
Analyze client marketing goals and develop needsbased solutions to achieve them
Work collaboratively with internal partners to drive revenue
Use web analytics tools to understand sales opportunities and statistics required for sales presentations
Work cohesively with other Village Media staff both locally based and across the network
Minimum qualifications for the position include:
While not a requirement a track record of sales success in a local media setting is an asset
Ability to work alone and as part of a team
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written skills
Integrity
Hardworking relationshipbuilder with a winning attitude
Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
Proficient with Gmail Google Docs Google Sheets and other Google applications
Some travel may be necessary
Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle
Must live in our near Simcoe County Ontario
Compensation Structure
A competitive hourly rate
Commissions are earned when payments are received on your sales not when they are sold/invoiced.
