Job Description

St. John the Evangelist School Severna Park MD is seeking an Assistant Principal. As a member of the School Leadership team the Assistant Principal assists the Principal with all daytoday operations of the school. The assistant principal oversees that instruction is consistent with the schools mission philosophy goals and objectives. In conjunction with the Principal the Assistant Principal assures that programs that deal with the schools Catholic identity are planned implemented and evaluated as directed by the Department of Catholic Schools.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the principal in defining and communicating the schools mission goals and expectations.
  • Provide instructional leadership in concert with the principal for the implementation of the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore
  • Assist the principal in the supervision and mentoring of faculty and staff.
  • Support faculty in the supervision of students and administration of the schools Code of Conduct
  • Assist in determining and implementing school organization student placement and evaluation and services and programs that provide for the needs of the students.
  • Communicate effectively with students staff administrative and supervisory personnel parents and community.
  • Engage in professional and community activities as an official representative of the school.

Position Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education
  • Masters degree from an accredited institution in educational administration supervision curriculum development or education
  • Appropriate MSDE Certification Admin 1 certification.
  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience in Catholic schools
  • Must be comfortable with technology including GSuite Google Classroom and school management programs such as PowerSchool.
  • Prior experience in school administration preferred.
  • Supports and upholds Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of St. John Regional Catholic School
  • Excellent communication collaboration and organization skills required.
  • This position requires absolute confidentiality professionalism and a teamplayer approach.
  • Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check completion of VIRTUS Training and completion of all necessary paperwork.
  • Administration I Certification Required

  • Administration and/or School leadership experience preferred

Range: $58000 $88000 Annualized
