Job Description
Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 415 years in Anne Arundel Baltimore Howard and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Counselors to work in our camps at our Timonium location. The Counselor position is for college students those of collegeage who have experience working with children and leading a group of children and for certified teachers.
Our day camps run MondayFriday the weeks of June 16 June 23 July 7 and July 14. You must be able to work either all four weeks or the last three weeks. Staff hours are approximately 8:15am4:15pm with one before and one after care shift each week. Pay for Lead Counselors start at $520 per week and certified teachers start are paid $640 per week. Exact position and salary is dependent on your experience working with children your year in college and if you have any special experience in science and/or technology.
We are looking for folks who:
- Enjoy working with children
- Have some experience working with leading and teaching a group of children
- Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can commit to working the weeks of June 23 July 7 and July 14 with an optional week of June 16.
- Having some experience with technology is a plus but NOT a requirement
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Implementing provided lessons (all lessons materials & supplies are provided)
- Keeping kids engaged while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week so you work a whole week (MondayFriday) for the weeks you are scheduled
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
