In this position you will provide assistance to taxpayers and their representatives through incoming calls and written correspondence regarding the application of tax laws rules regulations policies or procedures and provide clerical support to the district office as needed. This includes providing advice on the proper manner of completing tax returns reports and other forms; verifying tax liability penalty and interest; and explaining how these amounts were determined along with the applicable tax laws rules regulations and policies involved.
Work also involves reviewing and determining the accuracy of information provided by taxpayer preparing appropriate tax forms for taxpayers and referring adjustments corrections or complex delinquent account inquiries to the appropriate recipient. Your responsibilities will include preparing reports concerning the effectiveness of taxpayer services and make recommendations on how to improve in the future. You will also train tax season personnel in the areas of personal income tax and property tax/rent rebate program and assist them in resolving more detailed tax problems or issues.
