Job Description
Salal Credit Union is looking to add a Due Diligence Specialist to join our Business Banking team! This person will report to the Business Banking Due Diligence Manager and partner closely with our Business Banking support team to ensure a smooth and stellar experience for our members applying for a business account. This position facilitates new member acquisition by overseeing the new account application process and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Working closely with applicants to gather information about their business the Due Diligence Specialist will also engage closely with the Business Banking sales team and management to ensure applications are reviewed quickly accurately and efficiently.
This position is eligible to be performed fully remote for candidates living in AZ CA CT FL GA ID MO MT NC OK OR TN TX WA WI or WY. Please note that there is a preference for candidate to work within Pacific time hours.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DUE DILIGENCE SPECIALIST
The Business Banking Due Diligence team interfaces directly with applicants as a primary point of contact during online application process. The Due Diligence Specialist will evaluate applications for red flags or discrepancies and escalate concerns for review. Conducting research and completing indepth analysis on each new account is a vital element of this position. This role also communicates frequently with our Business Banking sales team regarding the status of the applications and any pertinent information that results from the due diligence process that should be added to documentation for the account. The Due Diligence team also acts as a point of contact for completing requests from the Compliance department regarding account documentation that is needed and will communicate with members to gather the required information.
Your daytoday will often include:
- Overseeing new account application and onboarding processes
- Ensuring applications are completed accurately and efficiently by working closely with applicants Business Banking Sales team and management
- Monitoring Business Services email inboxes for inquiries regarding new accounts products or services
- Coordinating with Business Banking Sales team to initiate application process
- Facilitating the collection of required new account documentation
- Processing applications to balance high service levels with compliance and quality control standards
- Drafting new account agreements and interacting directly with applicants to facilitate signing
- Providing support to existing members with complex account or ownership changes
- Performing limited ongoing due diligence for existing members
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DUE DILIGENCE SPECIALIST
- 2 years of experience in a sales and service role within a financial institution
- New account origination experience preferred especially business related accounts
- Understanding of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification (CIP) requirements
- Banking product knowledge and experience supporting customers/members
- Familiarity with Symitar core system is desirable

- Base Salary: $26.43 $37.00 per hour with most offers typically falling within the target range of $30.15 $32.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
