Job Description

Position Summary...

What youll do...

We are hiring for a fulltime 1st shift Optical Lab Training Coordinator working Monday through Wednesday between the hours of 5:30am to 5:30pm. This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional jobrelated responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.


Essential Functions

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Develops communicates and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers coworkers customers and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. Demonstrates promotes and supports compliance with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining guiding and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources information and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice feedback and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.

  • Provides support for maintaining the skills of associates by coordinating and facilitating certification courses (for example American Board of Opticians); coordinating Computer Based Learning (CBL) courses for associates; and preparing reviewing analyzing and monitoring reports logs and forms (for example user ID reports training participation).

  • Develops training programs and materials by conducting training needs analysis; identifying and developing training content and materials; adapting existing training content and materials; and evaluating training effectiveness.

  • Training: Follows appropriate legal requirements when handling or filing associate personnel files and other sensitive and confidential information. Gives accurate information to associates on training policies schedules and procedures (for example required training courses computerbased training) when required to do so. Identifies training needs tracks required training course attendance and coordinates new associate orientation and training in a timely manner. Tells management about associate complaints or issues related to training schedules or problems completing training requirements. Develops or revises existing training content and materials for new or existing training programs or initiatives. Provides accurate information to associates on the safety eyewear program requirements and procedures (for example required prescription documentation).


Physical Activities

The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.

  • Observes associate customer or supplier behavior.

  • Enters and locates information on computer.

  • Moves up and down stairs.

  • Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.

  • Creates documents reports etc. using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer.

  • Grasps turns and manipulates objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and handeye coordination.

  • Visually locates merchandise and other objects.

  • Visually inspects equipment.

  • Reaches overhead and below the knees including bending twisting pulling and stooping.

  • Moves lifts carries and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.

  • Stand for extended periods of time.

  • Sit for extended periods of time.

  • Communicates effectively in person and by using telecommunications equipment or electronic voice control equipment.

  • Visually verifies and reads information often in small print.

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required which could include but not be limited to lifting protection fall protection eye protection hearing protection respiratory protection chemical protection climate protection and electrical protection such as protective footwear.


Work Environment

Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position.

  • May work with substances that require special handling

  • Work overnight weekends and varying shifts.

  • Work indoors for extended periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an optical environment (for example lab vision center optometrist office) OR Previous experience training other associates/employees

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in an optical environment (for example lab vision center optometrist office)

  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment as a fulltime trainer

  • Previous experience certification or coursework in focus group/meeting facilitation

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.85$22.35*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule facility season or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
