The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire an experienced Laboratory Coordinator.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for managing multiple laboratory spaces oversee operations for lab courses train students with lab experiments and supervise and mentor graduate teaching assistants. The Laboratory Coordinator will also maintain equipment coordinate lab maintenance and equipment repairs as well as adherence to safety guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintain course content syllabus lab activities and instructional content related to teaching.
  • Develop course materials/activities; design and develop course learning for management sites via iCollege. Monitor course enrollment and lab class schedules.
  • Supervise mentor and evaluate laboratory personnel for field labs.
  • Recruit coordinate and onboard undergraduate teaching assistants; oversee operations and coordinate lab spaces.
  • Prepare laboratory material for specified biology courses; maintain lab equipment; manage chemical safety; conduct regular reviews of safety procedures throughout each semester.
  • Coordinate semester preparation and end semester cleanup each semester.
  • Organize meetings and trainings for team members and staff; train teaching assistants and laboratory assistants.
  • Manage laboratory inventory budget purchasing supplies repair/service lab equipment assure current technology usage for lab spaces and specified lab courses.
  • Monitor courses logistics equipment and labs. Address personnel and instructor concerns and provide support as needed.
  • Teach laboratory classes as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
