Ravinia is both North Americas longestrunning music festival and its most artistically diverse. Over 100 different events by a mix of classical rock pop jazz R&B indie and country performers make up a typical summer season on our two openair and two indoor stages. Each year the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is featured in six weeks of concerts many with Chief Conductor Marin Alsop. During the same summer months the Ravinia Steans Music Institute provides young professional classical and jazz musicians with careeradvancing training and concert settings. Offstage and yearround Ravinias Reach Teach Play education programs engage thousands of children and adultsin schools with little to no music curriculum in our Chicagoland communities and at our 36acre parkin our mission to make music equitably accessible to all.
Job Description
The Ravinia guest experience is more than the performance on stage. Our park is our pride and keeping it clean and beautiful is essential to our success. Park Operations Department members are the hardworking heroes who keep our park looking and operating at its best. From morning to night each of our employees contributes to making live music at Ravinia extraordinary.
Were seeking an energetic reliable Housekeeper to help with the daily operation of the Park Operations Department. The Housekeeper reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor of the Ravinia Festival Association (Ravinia) and is responsible for performing custodial and janitorial duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily cleaning and custodial services
- Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in keeping accurate supply inventory.
- Operate basic janitorial equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to push/pull/ carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate basic janitorial equipment
- Ability to stand/bend/reach/walk while working for extended periods of time
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Availability that includes weekends
- Ability to work on a team in a fastpaced entertainment venue
- Previous Housekeeping experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Experience in housekeeping janitorial services custodial and commercial cleaning industry is a big plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Additional information

- The Ravinia season runs from June through September. Applicants who are available to work the entire season will receive priority in hiring.
- This position is outdoors and in all weather conditions with prolonged periods of standing walking pushing/pulling and lifting/carrying.
- Housekeeping works 40 hours per week including weekends.

Benefits and Compensation
Hourly rates are nonnegotiable. Entrylevel experience is $16.25 per hour and MidHighLevel Experience is $17.75 per hour.
Eligible for the Illinois Paid Leave plan.
